Family Bonding

A family is people which comes only once in a lifetime. You should cherish them and appreciate for all the things they have done. Today I realised how much my family is important to me. Today was all about bonding. Things got started since 10am in the morning. My family and I went to one of my auntie's house to recite our prayers together. Most of my family were there, aunties, uncles, cousins and etc. After reciting, we ate lunch together. My auntie cooked A LOT. There were a variety of food. After a well eaten lunch, I hanged around with my cousin in his room. There wasn't much to do, apart from watching television, the only other choice was either to play guitar or interact with your other family members. I chose playing guitar.

As soon as noon striked, we heard the call to commence our prayers. We took our ablution and did our prayers. The afternoon then was mostly spent at Vivo City. All the women went shopping, I looked around the mall with my cousins. We mostly spent our time looking at the sports shops. Time flies, not long after that it was already nearly 6pm. We ate dinner, and then talked, and talked, and talked. Looking at the time, we all dispersed and went our separate ways. Looking at all my family one last time, I knew they were one bunch of people i never want to lose.

A truly memorable day

Today was a truly memorable day! Just like any other day, I woke up at around 9am. I scout for food in the kitchen. I didn't had the appetite to eat anything heavy so I just whipped myself up a bowl of cereal. Everything was quiet, the television was not turned on and everybody was fast asleep. I was staring blankly into space when out of the blue, everybody jumped out and screamed... SURPRISE! I jumped up in amazement, not knowing what the whole surprise thing was all about. My mum then asked if I knew what today was. I stood silent and just kept smiling.

My sister then laughed and said "It's your birthday peanut brain!"

I laughed insanely. How could I have forgotten my OWN birthday? Pictures were being taken by the minute and then of course, the all important cutting of the birthday cake. The candles were lit, the cake was ready and the knife was handed to me. I made my wish, gave a hard blow to the defenseless candles and then cut the triple-chocalate-with-whipped-cream-and-chocalate-chips on the top cake. I got a piece of it and ate it with pleasure, savouring every bite. And this was only the start.

At night, we went out to dinner at a restaurant called "Earle's Swensens". It was quite costly but it was worth it. We reached home midnight. Recalling what happened today, a radiant smile formed on my face.

What a day!

What a day! My alarm clock gave a shrieking shout at around 11am. My eyes were drowsy and my mind was still sleepy. I was going out in a while, so I dragged myself out of bed and took an early shower. I had a quick bite before everybody was ready. 10.30 I was already out of my house and in the back seat of my dad's car.

We went to send a flower arrangement to one of my mum's friend as my mum was a florist. Not much happened, but eveybody went off with smiles on their faces. We went straight to Orchard Road after that. I had lunch at McDonalds, ordered the usual. A fish burger, with fries and a medium Ice Tea. It certainly wasn't filling but it did felt like it was heaven for a moment. My mum went window-shopping after that. I didn't bothered to follow her, as some times, shopping with her won't be such a stroll in the park. Haha.

I met back with my family before finally reaching home at about 10pm. Things went from bad to worse as I could not went to bed, but instead I needed to do my homework. What a waste! Maybe next time I'll learn to bring my homework along on such tiring days. But still, i had to admit. I did had fun!
